The Perfect Gifts for Minimalists

I was asked recently, “what do I buy for a friend that is a minimalist?”.  After discussing the many options, I felt inspired to share this information with you.

What is a minimalist by definition?
A minimalist lifestyle is intentionally living with fewer possessions; focusing only on the ones you need, use and love. Living with less may be the right choice if you’re feeling overwhelmed with clutter, if you’re looking for fewer distractions, or if you’re looking to cut back on spending.

If you have people in your life that are choosing to live a more minimal lifestyle but you still want to get them a gift this holiday season or perhaps for a birthday or anniversary, here is a list that may inspire you on the perfect gift for your friend or loved one.

Minimalists prefer experiences to material possessions, so with that in mind consider gifts that are still amazing to receive, they are still thoughtful but can be used instead of stored.

Here are some of the examples you could consider:
1) Dark or more unique chocolate
2) Handmade soaps
3) Imported Coffee (for coffee drinkers of course)
4) Custom or unique teas
5) Wine (For wine drinkers of course)
6) Vouchers or tickets to see a show
7) Basket with goodies like spreads, jams and home made bread
8) Going out together for a really nice meal
9) A professional photoshoot (That way the photos can be kept forever and can also be stored digitally)
10) Organic Natural body products
11) Massage / Manicure / Pedicure Gift Card
12) Digital Picture Frame (I love this one from Aura!)
14) One Day Retreat
15) Cooking Class
16) E-Books
17) A workshop
18) Yoga Gift Card
19) Eco-Friendly Beeswax Wraps

Keep in mind that Minimalists like consumables and experiences above other choices of gifts. Don’t be shy to also ask your loved ones what they have on their wish lists, being minimalist  doesn’t mean you never buy anything, it simply means you shop and live with more intention.
