Why Minimalism?
I have been assisting some of my clients with their decluttering and minimalism journey’s and I have loved being part of this process. Decluttering is SO POWERFUL and can create new refreshed and inspired energy in so many areas of your life. Improving your creativity, physical energy and even sleep quality.
Some of the Benefits of Minimalism include:
1) Spend Less. Choosing to accumulate only the essentials often results in financial freedom.
2) Less Stress
3) Our space is easier to clean
4) More freedom to do the things we really want to do
5) Good for the overall environment with a reduced carbon footprint
6) You naturally become more productive
Decluttering can prevent pests and reduce dust, mold, and mildew, which may trigger asthma and allergies. It’s easier to prepare healthy meals in an orderly kitchen. And most people sleep better in a neat room with a tidy bed. Decluttering focuses on removing surface level possessions. Minimalism helps us discover how little we actually need.
Because of this difference, there are many advantages to minimalism:
Minimalism frees up more resources. When things feel out of order and scattered, it can leave us feeling scatter-brained and anxious. Bringing order and organization to our environment can relieve that anxiety. Decluttering your surroundings is a great way of reducing stress, and allows for a relaxed state of mind. The clutter around us affects our mental health making us feel lost, overwhelmed, and burdened. It makes our brains cluttered as well.
Decluttering helps you save time and space. Our environment can impact our mood. If our surroundings stress us out, we feel the impact. Reducing the clutter in our lives—be it physical, digital or otherwise—allows us to tackle our tasks with a clear mind head-on and this will benefit our mental health. Clutter can annoy us, distract us or take away much-needed energy.
If you are curious, start with one draw and then maybe even your wardrobe and see what happens…
